Fresh off the release of this past March’s SKY ON FIRE EP, LA-based songwriter mehro followed that project up with a series of singles called “Alchemy/Dark Corners,” most recently unleashing the haunting acoustic guitar and falsetto-driven “howling,” the perfect single for a lonely Halloween. “[It’s about] when you miss someone so much, your understanding of reality is put into question,” he shared of the track’s meaning. “Because the foundation you once stood upon is now water, and cement bricks are tied to your ankles, and there is nowhere to go but down.”

For his “Neighborhoods” performance, mehro brought the track to the top of Topanga Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains to howl it out to the city below. Recorded outside of their house Helloforever and co-directed by mehro and Ryan Calavano, the visual captures the performer with a dramatic sky behind him channeling all his longing into the performance.
