Earl Sweatshirt has returned today with the song “2010,” and he sounds ready to work and make shit happen. “Walked outside, it was still gorgeous,” the Los Angeles rapper reflects over the Black Noi$e–produced beat. “Sharp insides was revealed slowly / In the dark inside we was real hungry.” Toward the end of the track Sweatshirt raps: “And I didn’t look back when I broke soil / ‘Cause every time I did it would hurt more.” Now, it seems he’s ready to see how far he’s come despite the pain.

“2010” hints at a new project from Sweatshirt. He’s already had a prolific couple years with the deluxe reissue of Feet of Clay last year and his recent work with The Alchemist, Navy Blue, MIKE, Armand Hammer, and Wiki.
