Last year, Charli XCX challenged herself to make an album in 40 days amidst a global pandemic while we were all in lockdown. Titled how i’m feeling now, the resulting record captured Charli at her most vulnerable and, dare I say, experimental. Early next year, she’s releasing a Bradley & Pablo–directed film called Alone Together which documents that period of isolation and creation.
“I don’t think I’m pretty enough, I don’t think I’m smart enough, I don’t think I’m interesting enough without my work—without it, I feel like I’m nothing,” XCX tells the camera in the opening moments of her documentary’s trailer. The clip hints that this film might show XCX like we’ve never seen her, giving us an intimate look at her personal struggles and relationships.
