The last holiday of the year is coming up, or the first of the new one depending on how you look at it. Despite us wishing otherwise, COVID has reminded us that returning to some kind of normal is a ways away. The spread of the new variant has resulted in a series of cancellations for crowded celebrations, including New Year’s Eve concerts from The Strokes, Spoon, and Phish, among others. The one silver lining is that we can still pop a bottle of champagne and see some of our favorite artists perform…but it’s going to be via a screen. One event to look forward to is TikTok’s New Year’s Eve event that will feature live performances from Rico Nasty, Kali Uchis, and Charlie Puth, along with appearances from TikTok creators. Each performance will take place on a different floor of TikTok Towers, an apartment-themed stage custom built for each artist. Courtney Parchman— a.k.a. Average Fashion Blogger—will serve as the evening’s host.
You can watch the festivities via the app starting at 6 p.m. PST on December 31.
