Last Friday, FKA twigs shared her first major project since 2019's MAGDALENE. The mixtape titled CAPRISONGS is what twigs called a journey back to herself. "It’s bronzer in the sink, alco pop on the side, a cherry lolly, apple juice when ur thirsty, friends in the park, your favourite person, that one sentence somebody said to you that changed everything, a club pre-game, your bestie who is always late but brings the most to the party, meeting a friend at the airport, just togetherness my world," she wrote on her Instagram. She's continued this journey with a new visual for the track "meta angel."
Taking after its title, the video directed by Aidan Zamiri depicts twigs as her own militant cupid. She's aimlessly standing in a park one moment, and then in the next her doppelgänger stalks her on a building's rooftop, setting an arrow free which hits the first twigs in the heart. As the arrow takes flight, twigs commands on the soundtrack: "Throw it in the fire / Ego in the fire." One version of herself surrendering to another.
