Yesterday, the monolithic indie band Arcade Fire reported that they had new music on the way with a single titled "The Lightning I, II" scheduled to arrive this Thursday at 11 a.m. PT. It's their first new music—aside from Everything Now remixes, the original score for Her made with Owen Pallett, and a few quarantine goodies, including a 45-minute single for a meditation app—since 2017's Everything Now.

It seems that they've already got some live practice in for the upcoming release. The group performed a couple shows over the past two days, including a benefit for Ukraine held yesterday at Toulouse Theatre in New Orleans. The night before, as Stereogum points out, the Canadian group performed a secret warm-up show at that same venue. They played a couple new songs called "Rabbit Hole" and "Age of Anxiety"—the latter of which you can find below, along with a video of their "The Lightning I, II" performance.
