It was a gorgeous night by the Atlantic as three icons of alt- and indie-rock took the stage at the historic Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Camera shy Cat Power opened (sorry, no photos allowed) with a short, lovely set bookended with covers of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Sunset was the backdrop to Modest Mouse, with Isaac Brock in a chatty mood during their loud set. Kurt Vile was spotted in the crowd for Pixies as they brought a wave of mutilated guitars and let loose song after song.
