Vagabon, a.k.a. Lætitia Tamko, has shared a new single and accompanying video entitled “Lexicon.” The track is the final taste from her forthcoming third album Sorry I Haven’t Called, out September 15 via Nonesuch Records. The Mariah Carey–inspired single features rollicking, dancefloor-ready percussion, yearning vocals that take a page from classic R&B, and, guitar riffs inspired by ’90s pop radio.
Tamko credits album co-producer Rostam (Vampire Weekend, HAIM, Clairo) with taking the song over the finish line and unifying her vision. “I wrote the song, the verses, the chorus, all of the bridge, and all of that, but I couldn’t find a place for it on the record sonically,” she said. “When I revisited the album with Rostam in LA, he said give me a minute with it and he just got it.”
