To celebrate tomorrow’s release of You’re Dead!, Steven Ellison’s fifth full-length album under the Flying Lotus moniker, have a look at the video for “Never Catch Me.” Featuring a vocal performance from Kendrick Lamar delivered like it’s actually the last day of his life, the clip follows a young boy and girl at their own funeral as they rise from their caskets and dance right out of the church. Hiro Murai, who has also directed videos for Spoon, Shabazz Palaces, and Queens of the Stone Age, has created a visual accompaniment worthy of two artists currently pushing the vanguard.
Catch the video below, along with Flying Lotus’ upcoming tour dates. You’re Dead! is out on Warp Records tomorrow, October 7…if you make it that long.
