SOPHIE, the self-titled second album from the late pop icon, will be released via Transgressive and Future Classic on September 27. Ahead of the release, lead single “Reason Why” is out now. Featuring BC Kingdom and Kim Petras, the track is a bouncy synth-pop banger that takes cues from UK dance music, as looping vocals help create an unrelenting momentum.

The album was produced by SOPHIE and Benny Long, and was made with many of her closest collaborators. It was almost done when she tragically passed away in 2021, and was completed by those closest to her. Regarding the new collection, a statement read: “Sophie gave all of herself to her music. It’s here that she can always be found.”
