New York–based weirdo-pop mainstay Jordan Raf has returned with a new single, “Maybe I’m Wrong,” which is also something I’ve never, ever said in my entire life. Opening with some heavily strummed acoustic guitar chords, the track finds Raf lamenting on the fleeting nature of culture, taste, and being cool. “Every day I try to peer into the future,” he sings, “And every day I become a bigger loser.” This last line is punctuated by a drum groove and string suite that gives the song the feel of a mournful march.

Regarding the cut, which was recorded in Long Island City at Show Me the Body's Corpus Studios with engineer Aidan Elias, Raf says: “The song itself is about the ongoing culture wars, local scenes, and technocratic dystopia. Also about getting older. And being wrong. Or thinking you probably are. I know it sounds histrionic, but if I could delete my entire discography and replace it with this one song I would.”

That would be bad for me, a devoted fan of Jordan Raf’s discography. Though this song is quite good. Check it out below.
