Back in September, Asy and Chloe Saavedra celebrated 20 years of their debut collection of indie-pop recordings under the moniker Smoosh. And just a few weeks after that, the sister duo celebrated 10 years of their breakout EP under the modified version of their previous collaboration, Chaos Chaos, which adapted to the 2010s trends in vibrant electropop. In honor of that milestone, Committed to the Crime will see its first-ever vinyl release on October 25, following a string of three live dates across LA, San Francisco, and San Diego.

Additionally, the release will feature a bonus track: an orchestral remix of the EP single “Do You Feel It?” which strips the song of its era-invoking upbeat charm and replaces it with something more emotionally and instrumentally complex. “We wanted to make this version to show our appreciation to everyone who has been there supporting us for the 10 years since the release of Committed to the Crime,” Asy shares. “Our band broke up for three years [between 2020 and 2023], and recording this version of ‘Do You Feel It’ after having gone through that painful time gave us a new perspective on the song and on the importance of maintaining our sister relationship. This release is incredibly close to our hearts, and we’re so excited to share it with you.”

In addition to the rerelease campaign, Chaos Chaos shared two singles earlier this year after Chloe kept busy as a touring drummer for Caroline Polachek and Eartheater, and Asy composed the soundtrack to the VR video game Trover Saves The Universe. Check out the video for the song’s new version (produced by Caris Kuhn, shot by Alex LaLiberte, and directed by the band)—in which the Saavedras may or may not bury a body—and stream the single here. Additionally you can pre-order the EP reissue here, and find more info on their aforementioned tour dates here.
