LCD Soundsystem x-ray eyes

LCD Soundsystem are back with a new single, but don’t go running to Spotify to give it a listen. With credit to the hawk-like eyes (or ears?) of Brooklyn Vegan, it hath been revealed that James Murphy and co. low-key dropped “X-Ray Eyes” via Anu’s “Soup to Nuts” show on NTS. The single marks LCD Soundsystem’s second new track (following “New Body Rhumba” for Noah Baumbach’s White Noise film adaptation—remember Noah Baumbach’s White Noise film adaptation?) since the release of their last album American Dream in 2017.

The track features bubbling low-end synths and a shuffling drum groove. “I’ve got eyes that can see inside,” Murphy repeats. He also does some sexy whispering, which is pretty cool, too. Anu refers to the song as “X-Ray Specs,” but Murphy refers to himself as having “X-Ray eyes.” Mysteries abound!

Check out the track here, which begins at the 20-minute mark.
