yeule has returned with a new single entitled “eko,” out now via Ninja Tune. The song was written in London and recorded in Los Angeles, and produced by yeule alongside Chris Greatti (Willow, Yves Tumor, The Dare). “eko” is a bubbling, pop-leaning electronic cut with uptempo drums and synths that twinkle in the background. yeule sings: “She’ll go insane with all the fame / She looks at me with eyes so full of pain.”

Last we heard from yeule was back in March when they offered up a cover of Broken Social Scene’s “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl,” which was featured in the first trailer for I Saw the TV Glow. The new single further pivots away from the shoegaze-y sound of last year’s softscars.

Check out “eko” below, and revisit our conversation with yeule following the release of softscars here.
