At the beginning of September, Red Hot announced that their latest compilation, TRAИƧA, would be an ambitious collection of 46 songs recorded by over 100 artists celebrating trans and non-binary voices. With the project being announced with a cover of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U” recorded by Wendy & Lisa of The Revolution along with London-based singer Lauren Auder, today we’re getting an EP’s worth of material from the collection titled TRAИƧA: Selects, which features the cover along with songs by L’Rain, Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Sam Smith, and André 3000.

Leading the release, though, is the first new single from Sade Adu in six years, with “Young Lion” taking the form of a ballad dedicated to her trans son Izaak. “Trans people have always existed, with many different names across time and culture, often as spiritual healers and leaders,” Adu shared back in September when the compilation was announced. “As global systems continue to fail humanity and all life on Earth, the journey taken by trans people—and all peoples who have been oppressed—is a blueprint of possibility. May this be a glimpse of our collective liberation, and the light inside all of us.”

Check out the track below, and listen to TRAИƧA: Selects in its entirety here. The full TRAИƧA LP will be available on November 22.
