After getting to know Nashville-via-Bristol songwriter Yola through her 2021 country-soul LP Stand for Myself, the artist has kicked off 2025 with yet another bold statement of individual purpose with her My Way EP. In lieu of the Music-City twang of that prior project, the new EP ventures into synthpop, nu-disco, and classic funk, all while lyrically taking shots at “fuckboys” and other subject matter better suited for the dancefloor.
Before she sets out on her “Sovereign Soul” tour this summer, Yola is joining us this week on a new episode of “Hacked,” in which she spins some contemporary faves like Ravyn Lenae and NxWorries while also paying homage to pop icons such as Janet Jackson. Check out the full episode every day this week (January 27 – 31) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT only on FLOOD FM. You can also find her full list of “Sovereign Soul” tour dates here.
