Moses Sumney has shared a remix of his 2024 single “Hey Girl,” which was originally featured on last year’s Sophcore EP. The new version of the track, titled “Hey Girl(s),” features two legends in the game: Syd and Meshell Ndegeocello. On the rework, the trio adds to the loose, knotty, lo-fi R&B of the structure, layering beautiful harmonies beneath the woodwind arrangements and knocking percussive accents.
Ndegeocello shared: “I was excited when Moses thought of me for this song because I love his voice, it’s just otherworldly, and this song spoke to me because of the way he pushes a romantic narrative into the future. It was a pleasure to get a glimpse into his process and an honor to be part of it.”
