Blondshell’s If You Asked For a Picture is coming on May 2 via Partisan Records, and as artists are wont to do, the musician also known as Sabrina Teitelbaum has shared a new teaser in the form of another pre-release single. The charging, jangly “23’s a Baby” is a slice of sunshine on this cloudy day (in NYC, at least), though lyrically the skies are a bit murkier: “Cleaning up your mess / No cause, no explanation,” Teitelbaum sings. The chorus is effortlessly catchy, one of the strongest from the string of singles Blondshell has teased from the new album.

Regarding the song, Teitelbaum said: “The song is partially about being in your twenties and feeling like you’re supposed to know everything (your parents even had kids around that age!) yet you’re truly in the weeds trying to figure out who you are. I wanted it to have a bit of a nursery rhyme feel. It’s a heavy subject so it was important to have fun when we made it.”
