Thundercat has announced that his first album since 2020’s It Is What It Is will arrive on April 3 via Brainfeeder. Distracted is led by a new single, “I Did This to Myself,” which features Lil Yachty. The funky track is anchored by a bubbling, melodic, insanely impressive bass performance from Thundercat. The bassist and vocalist sings about looking like a fool while trying to get a girl’s attention, while Yachty tries out a number of different flows, moving in and out of them with ease.
The album also features contributions from A$AP Rocky, Willow, Tame Impala, Channel Tres, and the late Mac Miller. Check out “I Did This to Myself” below, and pre-order Distracted here.
