Sudan Archives released her striking third album, The BPM, last October and is now in the midst of a US tour supporting the release. If you’ve followed FLOOD over the last several years, it’s no secret that we’ve long been enamored with her work: The BPM and her previous album Natural Brown Prom Queen both landed near the tops of our 2025 and 2022 Best Albums of the Year lists, and we were fortunate enough to have Sudan Archives headline FLOODfest at SXSW in 2023.
Last week, she celebrated her 31st birthday with a spellbinding performance at New York City’s Webster Hall, playing tracks from the new album alongside standouts from earlier releases. Find highlights from the night, captured for FLOOD by Dutch Doscher, below.
