Broken Social Scene have shared “Hey Amanda,” which will be featured on the band’s forthcoming LP Remember the Humans. The track begins with a lovely interplay of guitar, horns, and strings before a collection of vocalists come through a cappella, singing: “Hey Amanda / Why’d you go and cut your hair again?” Pavement reference, anybody? “This is a song about being yourself, and how people will always question that,” the band shared.
Set to arrive on May 8 via Arts & Crafts, Remember the Humans marks BSS’s first new studio release in nearly a decade. The Toronto band recruited David Newfeld to produce the project, who previously worked on their iconic albums You Forgot It in People and Broken Social Scene.
