Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman have become well-acquainted over the past few years, given the two songwriters’ string of collaborations with each other—as well as their work on projects for mutual friends. They’re now in the midst of a co-headlining North American tour, with both artists sharing the stage to play material from both of their catalogs.
At the Brooklyn Paramount in New York this week, they played a 26-song set, including an encore dedicated to cover songs—including The Jayhawks’ “All the Right Reasons,” Lucinda Williams’ “Abandoned,” and Kathleen Edwards’ “Six O’Clock News”—where they were joined by the tour’s opener, Brennan Wedl.
