While so many of his Gen-X rap peers have pivoted to releasing albums as NFTs and exploring other tech-era grifts, Beastie Boys’ Mike D approaches the subject from a much more honest perspective on his latest cut. “Crypto” marks the fourth single from Thank You, his debut solo album backed by his 5D band (featuring two of his sons), and the cyberpunk jam assures us that he won’t be shilling the new album via any experimental (i.e. scammy) avenues.
