Considering the caliber of Jessica Dobson’s voice, it comes as no surprise to see the roster of high-profile acts with whom she’s played over the years (Beck, The Shins, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Spoon). And it’s also no surprise that someone with such noticeable talent would have a project of their own. Enter Deep Sea Diver, the band Dobson has fronted since releasing the New Caves EP in 2009.
After ending her recent tenure as guitarist for James Mercer and company, Dobson has announced that Deep Sea Diver are back with a new album called Secrets. We’re happy to premiere the title track from the forthcoming new record here at FLOOD. “Secrets” is an energetic waltz in disguise that showcases Dobson’s unique vocal power.
Recorded with Darrel Thrope (Radiohead, Beck), Secrets is set to be released on February 19 via the band’s own High Beam records.
