Ratking‘s 2014 LP So It Goes was a sneaky-good slice of NYC hip-hop that was both informed by the city’s aesthetic history and invested in pushing it into something new—see the King Krule–featuring “So Sick Stories” for proof.
With guest spots on tracks by Run the Jewels and Earl Sweatshirt in his back pocket, Ratking’s dynamite plug Wiki is readying his first solo LP. lil me features production credits from Madlib and Kaytranada, as well as Ratking’s Sporting Life. The record drops next Monday, December 7, but you can get a taste of it with the video for single “Livin’ With My Moms,” which Wiki released last night. The clip follows Wiki and the fantastically afroed Nasty Nigel as they head out on tour, leaving their moms behind, only to come flying back the moment the moms are kidnapped. You can check it out—as well as lil me‘s track list and album art—below.
