In 2018 U.S. Girls released one of our favorite albums (and shared some observations about men farting with us), funneling her outrage at the then-early period of the current presidential administration into oddly anxiety-free pop tracks at odds with the experimental noise that introduced Meg Remy over a decade ago. With details of her imminent follow-up, it seems like she’s still in this same mindset.

Today we received the first single from U.S. Girls’ seventh LP, Heavy Light, as well as a tracklist suggesting continual coverage of the themes of nationalism and misogyny, along with an ambiguously doomy album cover. The single itself, on the other hand, couldn’t be more pleasant—“Overtime” continues In a Poem Unlimited’s trajectory toward poppier pastures, concluding in a ripping sax solo.

Stream the single below, and read on for U.S. Girls’ newly announced tour dates. Heavy Light hits March 6 via 4AD, and you can find more details here.
