After getting his groove on under the alter-ego Les Sins with last year’s MichaelChaz Bundick is already back in the saddle of his better-known moniker Toro Y Moi. Bundick recorded the new record What For? over the course of 2014 in his home studio in Berkeley, California. His latest LP is said to have taken inspiration from Big Star, Talking Heads, and Todd Rundgren, and features guest appearances from Julian Lynch and Unknown Mortal Orchestra‘s Ruban Nielson. For a taste of what that sounds like, check out the shimmery first single “Empty Nesters” below.

What For? is set for release on April 7 via Carpark Records.
