The Grammy Museum is the latest institution to open their e-doors to new programming this week, announcing today that they’ll be launching brand new content during the museum’s indefinite COVID-19 closure. Promising “never-before-released digital public programs series, digital exhibit series, and educational content” on their website, the museum has shared the first round of artists contributing to the project.
Yola, Bob Newhart, Larkin Poe, X Ambassadors, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Greta Van Fleet, and Kool and the Gang are all among the featured artists for the museum’s digital programming scheduled through April 6. Each program will include intimate interviews with the performers, with one artist scheduled to appear every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for the next three weeks.
“At the Grammy Museum, we believe that music has the power to bring us together, strengthen our sense of community and drive us forward—especially in times when it feels like we are being pulled apart,” Grammy Museum president Michael Sticka shared in a press release this morning. “We believe at its core, everything that we do is to better our community through music. The Grammy Museum’s doors may be closed, but our mission isn’t. This is about our community, nationwide, even globally. It is our privilege to share these never-before-released interviews by beloved artists with you and bring them into your homes. With these programs, we hope that people will find solace and inspiration.” Watch a statement from Sticka below.
In addition to the brand new programming, the museum is also resurfacing past exhibits, including the slideshows “X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game: Popular Music and the National Pastime,” available this Friday, March 20, and next Friday, March 27, respectively.
