We’re exactly a month out from the release date of Phoebe Bridgers’ new album Punisher, and to mark the occasion she’s shared the third single from the record, the baroque-pop “I See You.” The dramatic track details Bridgers’ relationship with her drummer, which, based on the song’s lyrics and his continued collaborative role in her band, ended on pretty good terms.
“We dated for a few years, made music every day, and were extremely codependent,” she shared of the song in a press statement released earlier today. “We became like family to each other, so our breakup was extremely tough. But if this tells you anything about our relationship, we wrote this song together, just like everything else.”
Along with the new single, Bridgers has announced impending tour dates for the record. No, she won’t be playing in Fort Smith, Arkansas—she’ll be playing live from different rooms of her home. The string of shows kicks off May 26 with a kitchen set. More details on the flyer below.
