Terrace Martin and Kamasi Washington kicked off June with a bang by releasing a fiery one-off single that featured verses from Denzel Curry, G Perico, and Daylyt. The protest-banger “Pig Feet” arrived on the heels of Martin’s EP-length collaboration with Chicago rapper Ric Wilson—released less than a month prior—and today we’re learning that it will be bookended with yet another massive collaboration which sees him once again teaming up with saxophonist Washington, as well as longtime friend Robert Glasper and 9th Wonder.

The four-piece’s self-titled debut as Dinner Party will arrive in two weeks, which will feature Chicago-based vocalist Phoelix on over half of its seven tracks. “Freeze Tag” is the first sample of the project, a considerably smoother take on racial justice than the vicious “Pig Feet”—smoother, even, than the neo-soul of They Call Me Disco. You can stream that track—and watch the collective recording the song in the studio—below.
