Happy 50th Birthday, Beck! Here’s a New Khruangbin Remix of “No Distraction”

The eclectic songwriter celebrates a half-century with a stellar remix from the Houston trio.

Generation X is growing up. Beck, the ’90s alt-rock boy wonder, celebrates his fiftieth birthday today. The artist marks the occasion by sharing a brand new remix of his Colors track “No Distraction” by Houston band, Khruangbin. Given the quality of this track, a spin of the group’s latest album, Mordechi, is an essential listen.

The trio take the song into a chillwave vein of dubbed-out psychedelic soul, heavy on atmosphere and ideal for chilling out in these trying times. The remix was originally slated to debut as a Record Store Day 2020 7-inch release. With the annual event now spread out over three different dates, the wax is slated for release in October.
