It’s the kind of moment to which most music fans can relate: the feeling of being “over” a once beloved artist. Sometimes, though, something or someone will snap perspective into stark relief, reminding you exactly why you loved the music in the first place.

That’s how we got this really lovely cover of Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” from Hayley Williams. The Paramore singer admits as much on Instagram, where she shared the acoustic version.

“For a time i pretended to be over Radiohead (iiii knowwww) but good good things always find you and welcome you back,” Williams wrote. “So, in admiration of one of the best bands of all time – and in humility to everyone who did *not* ask for this – here’s a self-serenade of ‘Fake Plastic Trees’. enjoy it if you can.”

The singer also said that this Radiohead cover is “the last of the self serenades,” suggesting her series of quarantine covers has come to an end. Here’s hoping she’s inspired to share more. If not, thanks for the memories. Listen to Hayley Williams’ take on Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” below.
