In addition to their stellar contributions to neo-soul and hip-hop earlier this year, Quelle Chris, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Oddisee all recently appeared on the track list for the new album from Seba Kaapstad, who introduced themselves last summer via their busy debut LP for Mello Music Group. With Quelle’s contribution serving as the lead single for Konke, today we’re hearing the title track, which sees the band setting out on their own.

“Konke” is a choppy, soul-infused hip-hop cut only made more fun by its colorful video, composed of South African greenery and Twix bars. “‘Konke’ means ‘everything’ in quite a few Nguni languages, and we wanted to represent that with this song,” explains SK’s Zoë Modiga. “As global citizens from wherever we come from in the world, we have quite a few things in common. We all have aspirations, hopes, dreams and goals. This song celebrates that by simply saying—we want it all.”
