Singer-songwriter-producer-activist and FLOOD 11 cover star H.E.R. has officially announced the release of her anticipated album Back of My Mind today. It’s coming just days away on June 18. The last we heard from the multi-Grammy-winning musician was a contribution to the Netflix series We the People called “Change” and a feature alongside Migos on DJ Khaled’s album titled “WE GOING CRAZY.” The news arrives with the unveiling of her stirring new single,”We Made It.” Listen below.
She also shared a short clip with the announcement that finds her getting into the album’s core. “It’s always the thoughts that sit in the back of my mind, it’s always things that I’ve been through, things that I go through or that I feel, and all those thoughts that I think I’m afraid to say sometimes, or that we’re afraid to say,” she said.
H.E.R. continued, “Things that feel too honest or too vulnerable, or too emotional or too aggressive. It’s all of those things. All of those things that have been in the back of my mind for the past few years, since my first project. It’s like a peek into my soul.”
