Rock’s most prolific group, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, have announced yet another new album. After dropping the metal opus PetroDragonic Apocalypse in June, the almost sickeningly busy band are already back with another full-length titled The Silver Cord.

According to the band, they’ll once again be switching up their style on the album, citing their own 2021 LP Butterfly 3000 album as a sonic influence, in addition to groups like Kraftwerk. “It’s definitely synth-y,” the group’s Joey Walker said of The Silver Cord. “You could draw comparisons in many ways, but just in the nature of us being in the same room and playing and writing together, it’s vastly different than Butterfly.”

The Silver Cord is seven tracks long, but according to an Instagram post from the group, the band will also be sharing a version that includes “extended” versions of each song. Pre-orders begin October 12.
