After a series of Phoebe Bridgers events—including a $1 ticket, sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden, and the subsequent announcement of a world tour—that got tongues wagging about the possibility of a new album, the songwriter has indeed announced an imminent third record.

Titled Lost Weekend—which makes sense given that the forthcoming live dates are billed as The Lost Tour—the album will be released via Dead Oceans on August 14, arriving a full six years after her acclaimed 2020 sophomore effort, Punisher. It's also been three years since the release of boygenius' debut album, the record, which seems like ample time for new music to be on the cards.

Unusually, there's no single accompanying the album announcement, so we can only guess what the new material will sound like. There is, however, a countdown to something on her YouTube channel, which will conclude at 7 p.m. EST tomorrow (June 25).

The songwriter recently announced that, due to a trademark dispute, her Saddest Factory Records label will be folded into Dead Oceans. Lost Weekend, the cover of which you can see below, is available for pre-order now.
