As that incredible header photo might have led you to believe, Brooklyn’s Prince Rama are taking their Xtreme Xploits to the twelfth century for their latest single, “Slip Into Nevermore.” The track is the third single to be taken from Xtreme Now (one of our Most Anticipated Albums of 2016), and unlike “Bahia” and “Now is the Time of Emotion,” it’s largely driven by acoustic instruments (including a simulated flute).

Still, this being Prince Rama—creators of the Jock Jams–inspired “extreme sports genre”—heavy-handed emotion abounds here, courtesy of somber guitar lines and Taraka and Nimai Larson’s overlapping vocals. Of the track, the sisters say, “‘Slip Into Nevermore’ was written inside an ancient Viking ruin on a remote island in Estonia as a last minute resort to try to prevent a friend from committing suicide. With its haunting synths and angelic vocals, it totally did the trick.”

Nerdy teens getting amped for a trip to Medieval Times: you have your anthem.

Xtreme Now is out March 4 on Carpark.
