Just when we thought it was over, 2020 pulled us back in—not only did the final day of the longest year in human history reveal the October 31 passing of MF DOOM, but this afternoon, Vic Mensa took to IG to share the news that his South Side, Chicago–based non-profit SaveMoneySaveLife was robbed of its inventory on New Years Eve. “Somebody brought a truck and emptied us out,” a weary Mensa shared on his personal account. “Over $40,000 worth of brand new shoes, winter coats, sleeping bags, you name it.”

To offset this major loss, the org has launched a Flipcause campaign. “We had a huge shoe distribution planned (post-poned due to COVID-19) and all the shoes we collected were taken,” the page details. “Countless hours, money and energy went in to acquiring and organizing these donations and has left us deeply disheartened by this loss.” If you can, donate to the cause here.
