2015 has been a year full of incredible high-profile collaborations. And now we’ve got another one coming in right under the wire. The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and Savages‘ Jehnny Beth have come together to cover the Sort Sol/Lydia Lunch’s 1984 track “Boy/Girl.”
Except for turning the fuzz on the track up to eleven, Casablancas and Beth stay true to the original gender-bending punk song. The pair also pay homage to the track’s too-cool-for-school ’80s video, but update it for a new generation with technology from…the early ’90s. Green screen glow and around the world backdrops for all!
“Boy/Girl” is out on December 18 via Pop Noire Records/Cult Records.
